What Is the Part B Premium Reduction?
The Medicare Part B Premium Giveback, or Reduction, is a valuable benefit offered by some private Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans. If you enroll in a plan with this feature, the plan provider pays for some or all of your Medicare Part B premium. The amount may change based on the amount you pay for Part B.
The giveback reduces what you owe for Part B either as a smaller deduction from your Social Security benefit or as a credit on your Part B premium bill, depending on how you pay. It's a way to put money back in your pocket while still receiving the benefits of a Medicare Advantage plan. Availability and amounts vary by plan and county.
